Hey all,
Got me a nice "pair" of red faces the Ither day at the canberra sale.
Ot them home, and they're both trilling away like mad.
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience wit hens that trill? From what I remember it's a male only thing
They've stuffed their nest box with emu feathers and grass, so if I had a pair id say they were nesting. Would two males bother with making a nest?

2 males would still build a nest. Sorry, but if both are trilling that much they are both cocks.

Thanks guys. Pretty much what I expected, didn't think there was much chance of a trilling female
I'll post some pics tomorrow when it's light enough to take them just to be sure...
I didn't know about the black, time to go through some old photos of my old pair I bred from, see if I can play spot the difference!

Ive always found hens two middle tail feathers are rounder on ends then cock birds as well.....

I have a red face that looks like a cock but it lays eggs .I always look at the vent this time of year when sexing.I think someone posted a few photos a while ago showing the difference when sexing by the vent
