A few pictures from the bird market in Chiang Mai. I'll post a few of finches and softbills else where.

Cheers
Ian

Looks very clean and well presented . .

Unlike bird markets in many SE Asian cities

Can you possibly PM me to where in Chiang Mai these markets are, I'm going in a few months, and I'd really like to visit here!

It does look like a very nice market, and some great Parrots, I hope most are captive bred though, I assume they are here.

Google Khamteing plant market. It is towards the airport and it is a tosoc supermarket. It only cost about 120 baht in a tuk tuk to get there.

Nice photos Ian,

Pity about the leg chains...

The black-winged lory I think is a blue- streaked lory. The black-winged has a triangular blue patch on the side of the head, no ruff and is much rarer (Cites 1).

Can't wait for the softbilled photos :)

Nice looking and healthy looking birds. Cleanly presented, though not spacious. But certainly nothing to distress the birds or buyers. Well done them. And thanks for showing us.
