with permission iv posted this pic for a lady in w.a, bred from green back parents in a mixed aviary, siblings all came out normal, but this guy is different.

any ideas? new mutation? hybrid? nutritional related?

strange i thought that their is also black markings on its foot.

Hi All,

I can see blackened toes i think.I have seen only 1 black or melanstic gouldian in new zealand about 3 years ago from a gouldian finch aviary only species living in there

Looks a bit chestnutty to me too,black cheeks and chestnut chest,is this possible with the two species? Craig :wtf:

A very strange bird for shore...
It is a risk to have more than one species on a aviary because things like this can eventualy happen.
Just wondering what kind of bird will pop up after the molth.

After zooming in on Pic I would tend to think melanistic...but wont know for sure till it moults...very interesting though...
