However, for me this coulple is unic because the male is a pied bird, very beautiful.
But ther is a problem: they have already made 3 clotches and all eggs empty. The male as a small ,yellow buble in is abdomen, near to is...
However this buble is growing and every time i touch it, e close is eyes in pain...
Is it possible to do an operation and remove it or is it impossible in a such small animal??

It might just be a fatty deposit from being over weight. It would also explain the infertility.

Here is a link to a fat tri-coloured parrot finch.

Not is not like that.
It looks like a buble, a small buble located near that area.
If it was some fatty deposit, the bird would not be in pain every time i touch it, correct?
Tomorrow, i will take some pictures.

Stavros,The infertility might not be because of that lump,in my experience with pied BFPF was that they are infertile.I once had a bird that was 80% pied and never produced a fertile egg from five different normal hens.I even had grizzle pieds and the same thing happened.(in my experience) here in Australia. Cheers Craig

sounds like a fatty deposit which helps explain infertility, if not like the normal fatty deposite could it be an enlarged liver and what your seeing is its lower lobe destending into the lower abdominal space. A picture tells a thousand words.

Thanks for the photos Gustavo.

It is definitely not the liver. You can just see the edge of the right lobe of the liver above and to the left of the swelling ( it is a curved red-brown area just below the edge of the keel)

The swelling is just before the vent. Is it soft and fluid-filled or hard?

In that area it will either be intestines, cloaca or a cyst of some sort. Its colour is the same as what fat would appear so it still may be fatty, but I would also expect to see evidence of fat in other areas. Have you checked the crop area for fat?

I would think that a good avian vet may be able to try aspirating the lump if it is fluid-filled or very soft and then analyse the cells and fluid obtained.

Surgery may be possible, particulalrly with an experienced avian vet but it really depends on what the swelling contains and what it is connected to.

Hi,

the lump is fluid-filled but very located. It does not move much.
Every time i press it, the bird close is eyes in pain and is right leg trembles a lot.
On is crop their is no fatty lumps or any other kind.
In the begining the lump was much more smaller and very yellow. Now is twice the size and more orange-yellow.
I could take the bird to an exotic veterenary to see what is it, but i have been told that if he as to be operated, he could die on the operation table or rupture is scar and die after.
So i do not now what to do...

That is what I would do-shouldn't cause too many problems for the bird and hopefully give you an answer. We are not talking about operating on the bird, just sedating it to stop it struggling and use a needle and syringe to hopefully get a sample. Then you can decide if there is anything that can be done.

If your vet thinks that the procedure is too risky, then don't do it.
