Firstly.
If one wants a specific and correct answere it is better to ask the right question/s first.

Than i read the following reply:
Mannikins, Society Finches and Bengalese are all the same bird under another name. True Manakins are a family of softbill birds native to South America.

Am I from another planet?
I always thought that Mannikins are from the Genus Lonchura. Softbills? South America?

cheers, Case

I doubt there are any breeders in Australia breeding Chestnuts in cages. I think you guys in Europe have nearly domesticated many of our native finches.
I am always impressed when I read of cage bred Plumbheads and Doublebars (Owls). With that being said, I would imagine a half fronted nest box to be ideal.

With property sizes getting smaller in the cities now it is probably what Australian aviculturalists need to move to in the future.
Orix and I excepted of course.

Yes Arthus, but according to a study released today we are in the top 10 of happiest people in the world.
De Top 10:

Denemarken - Denmark

Finland

Noorwegen - Norway

Nederland - Netherlands

Canada

Zwitserland - Switzerland

Zweden - Sweden

Nieuw Zeeland - that is us kiwi's!

Oostenrijk - Austria

Ierland - Ireland

And as i am from the low lands and living 6 months of the year in Aotearoa I am twice as happy ;-)
The other 6 months, starting in 10 days time, i spend in the lucky country.

cheers, case
