Hi everybody today my first gouldian spread his/her wings
Hope it will be silver or pastel blue
The other baby is still looking and not trying

The male is a pastel purble breast (split white) and split blue
The female is a blue white breast
both are black headed
the midle birds

Beautiful.
I dont have any pastel blue (SF Yellow Blue) myself so I cant comment on the colour of the young but I do have a silver youngster (DF YellowBLue).
My silver was and still is a very creamy colour, sort of like milky coffee.

Yap, i agree with Diane, too.
It looks a little beet dark to be a silver or pastel blue.
Probably a green one this time but by that combinatios, you have 6,25% to born pastel blues and silvers.

Just had a close look and the eyes on him and his brother are both dark
I think it must be a combination of the flash and the blind being hung at a right angle out rather than rolled up. (its going to be 33C today)

Hi 100Hrz I think its a blue chick, its definately not a green. A pastel will have lighter coloured wings and head.
Lovely silver Diana, my two silvers didnt make it out of the nest.

I remember years ago when I bred Yellow-backs their young had a "plum" eye. Not red but not quite black either.
