Our female plumhead has a reasonably large spot of white on the back of her head..

Anyone know what could possibly cause this, or maybe she's just not a good example of colour..

Will try and get a photo tomorrow :)

Hi Venetta, was she purchased like that/fledged like that or did it just appear recently? Craig :?:

I can't really say I'm incredibly sure if it was there when we purchased her or whether it just appeared...

We purchased her from the Finch Society Auction back in December...

It may just be that she has scalped herself at some stage and the feathers have grown back white, I've seen a few cases of it in diamonds that have been feather plucked by other diamonds and had white feathers grow back instead.

Perhaps a finch with bad manners was perched directly above her?

She could also have been feather plucked by another bird and had the damaged area grow back with white feathers... If I end up coming over next Saturday I'll have a look in person and should be able to tell you if you can't get a pic.

Yeah think she just had her feathers plucked. Maybe be the cock when mating. And I guess the feathers came back white. It just looks funny lol
