Fostering with own babies

I've just got a question regarding fostering, as we placed a gouldian baby whose parents are stupid with another pair who I thought were pretty much due to hatch their own babies.
This was Thursday morning, and of course the baby we placed with them is growing so quickly, but their eggs have not hatched yet..
I'm worried that obviously when they do hatch now, this baby will be too big and possibly cause problems for them..
Has anyone got any advice or guidance for when this happens?? I'm really hoping they hatch by tomorrow so it doesn't grow too big!! :/ I don't want anything to happen to the other babies!!!

Best to do so at the same stage otherwise smaller ones are likely to be less able to compete with older & larger nestmates.

Mybe put it back with the stupid pr as it would be better to lose one than a whole nest full, not that it could survive with its original parents who knows

Hi Venetta. In my exerience you may have to leave the young one their now. If you take it away before the other eggs hatch the parents will probably leave thinking the remainder are no good. If you are lucky they may be really good parents and raise them all. Unfortunately this is all part of the joys of keeping birds. Some you win and some you lose but as long as you learn you are better prepared next time. Good luck.

Based on what has already happened I would leave things as they are until the eggs belonging to the foster parents start hatching and the parents start to feed those babies, once that happens you will have to reassess.
You have the option then of removing the older baby and trying hand feeding, you could have more success if the baby is older before you have to take over, I know I did.

Thanks for suggestions and advice all.
BB that's pretty much what I was thinking to do if it comes to it!!
The eggs still haven't hatched as of this morning, so will just keep a close watch and see how we go
Cheers!!

they may even be infertile or DIS, so might not have to worry, do the eggs look fertile?

Yeah they look fertile, we removed one that was unfertile when we placed the baby in...
We'll just see how we go!!!
