A student brought this little guy in this morning when she found her cat playing with it!!

He's happy to sit on my finger, we're possibly thinking a new fledgling and it's parents didn't seem to be around, but I am totally not sure and not quite sure what he is and wondering what I should really do with him....

Help!! Please!? :D

I'm thinking I should probably just find a carer and take him there after work..

*Edit* I'm such a special one, I forgot to put the pic up!!
Here it is!! :)

Well we're heading off to a wildlife carer soon!

He's been in the hospital box at my work for the last few hours, has eaten a couple of mealworms - well it seems to be more happy just smashing em on the perch in there with him... lol

I used to find these in the long grass when I was younger.

They were always falling out of the nest.

Quite a pleasant finch to watch in the garden

It's an adult silvereye not young, They are also nectar eaters and very easy to keep on any soft fruit, nectar mix or even brown sugar and water. Must have food available at all times during waking hours.

weird that it is so quiet - doesn't sound right.

even my hand reared one, while quiet, moved around like it was powered on jet fuel and would only sit still for a scratch.

Took him to the wildlife carer suggested by the wildcare hotline..

We asked what happens if they don't happen to be able to be released due to being too imprinted on humans etc. They said they euthanase.

This made us a bit sad n I really hope it does well and can be released again!

I think he was a bit cold, n maybe in a bit of shock this morning?
He perked up a bit after being in the hospital box, n ate..

But yeah, bit of a worry! Poor little guy. He was just so cute!
