I've noticed recently that our ring neck likes to talk into his treat bowl....

Anyone know why this would be??? Does he like the sound of the echo maybe?? lol

Yep just a silly parrot thing . I have a Quarrion that puts its head in the corner of the aviary and does a car alarm ...must sound better echoing of the walls ...

Doesn't impress me , probably the most annoying noise I know .

If the bowl is made of metal he might be seeing a reflection of himself.

It's a plastic bowl, so I don't think he can see his reflection.. I think I might get him a mirror though.. He does have his scaly friend next door, but maybe that's not good enough.. lol

Niki, he says all sorts of things... hello, boobies, some rambling noise that we make to him, but i think we've started him saying yum yums now, but i am not sure if I've heard him say that in there yet lol

Please DON'T get a mirror, worse thing ever for a parrot and you will regret it for the rest of your time with him lol......(sorry I have had to deal with parrots with mirror fixations and it isn't fun )

another friend of mine has a shining parrot (in fiji) and she's learned the dogs name, and calls him over so she can hop up onto his back for a ride!

LOL that's cute. Yeah, we kinda taught him to say boobies... lol, if you heard the way he says it too, it's even funnier lol

Maz, I wont get a mirror then! I just thought it might've been okay! lol, I wouldn't want him having a fixation with one! lol

Boobies???? The mind boggles as to why and how you taught him this.  Was it a "show and tell" lesson or a "power point presentation"?

Well if I had a parrot I'd teach him... Don't worry.

I'd also need to teach him context, though.
