Hi everyone
I was wondering at what risks I would get if I fostered siskin eggs under a Canary. I have never fostered anything as I let nature take its course but in an emergency that the parents may abandon the eggs I was considering placing eggs under foster canaries. I would like to here thoughts on this before I even go down that path.

Are you talking about now or next canary breeding season which has a range of about August to January?

Danny G'day, years ago most breeders fostered red siskins under canaries, but these days i don't think there's any need for it as i know of many breeders parent raising them with great success in aviaries and cabinets. If i were you,i would only do it in an emergency. Craig

Madozzie it would be next years. Craig I wouldn't pull eggs or young from parents if they are doing their job it would he for emergencies only. Is there anything that should he watched out for like imprinting.
