Found in one of the aviaries at work a few weeks ago..
It's obviously fairly cold at the moment, but once you hold it, it's little tail end starts going around and around...
We're thinking just some sort of moth coccoon?
Maybe someone smart on here knows what sort?? lol
It's just over an inch long, and just under 10mm wide at the widest point...

Yeah just a moth or butterfly cocoon, nothing to worry about.

I didn't think it was anything to worry about.. I might go put it in the reptile room for it to keep warm... lol
Then we can watch it come out into the world! Haha

I've done that a number of times as a kid, and a few times more recently too
Last one was an amazing hawk moth. That was phenomanal.

Through and through. I was the type that had all kinds of weird and wonderful pets from the time I could walk... Caterpillars (through to moths and butterflies), spiders, scorpions, praying mantids. All of which were released after a short time though!!

Did you mention weird pets spanna ? these guys arent hard to breed (not that i bred them but wouldnt mind having a go) and they are way cool ! Not many yabbies here but a local equivalent. black light brings out colour and they become tame pretty quick, at least thats what im lead to believe.

glow in the dark - cooooooooooool
I did have a whistling spider "Alvira" as a lab pet for about 5 yrs - it became very quiet, use to take moths from my fingers very politely.
The cleaners wouldn't come in and collect the bins my laboratory for months after she escaped from her tank though
I think insects & arachnids definitely get used to handlers pretty quickly.
