Difference in price could be freight to the local feed store from the producer?

Sam,

Just did a re calculate. Normally pay $1.60kg for "normal". 20kg bag at Cessnock was $22 which equates to $1.10 per kilo. Saving of $10. Thought I was getting a bargain with the "breeder" mix. Anyhow I'm over it. What's done is done.

$14 is a big difference in cost for a single bag given finch mix is usually about $20 a bag. Are you saying your local produce store charges $14 more than you paid at the sale?
Over this side we pay from$40.00 upwards for 20kg of finch mix no matter what brand.
Cheers Greg.

I am happy with what I got. I can't feed them on fresh air. Crap quality? Please enlighten us as to the difference between what we grow here and what is available there in the land of the long white cloud. Makes for an interesting discussion. What do you pay and how do you compare quality?

I meant it as in as i get 12 different varieties of seed in 1x20KG Bag.I should have meant not enough seed variety compared and not as rich in colour. All are a consistent same size which is average. Its $52 a Bag and comes Oamuru north of Dunedin in South Island made by Topflite. If your happy with what you get and your birds do well on it thats great
