This is the first rat we caught a few weeks ago that has been lurking around my avairies. Since this one, we have caught 2 more, plus one that is elusive and hasnt been caught yet. The bucket this one is on is a 7.5kg, with lid width 30cm. Its the biggest rat we have ever seen - How about you guys ??

For a full size adult male, this would be not too uncommon round this way. Horrible nuisances.

Looks like no finches in that one glad you have a strong stomach.

Yeah, one of my dogs got it, but not before it left a nice hole in the bottom of one of my others dog's lower jaw. Put up quite the fight. Does anyone else around Oz have a rat problem at present ?? Like, more than usual ? Everyone you speak to here says we are experiencing a rat plague like never before.

Good sized rat hope you catch the other one

Rat ingress is standard with the commencement of cooler weather round here it would seem. Don't strangely enough have problems in the avairys. Touching wood here. But they sure can do the tango in the roof at night. And the garage and shed start to smell.
