I found this mouse the other day in my red factor aviary where my Jap Quail ( the large Quail like a bantam ? ) is housed. Its brain was missing, and its insides - but everything else was intact. Could my quail have done it ?? It was right where my quail sleep, next to their log.

Jewell! I'm starting to think you might have a problem! Ah, not only with the vermin but with the need to photograph them.  I don't think that the Jap quail could have broken through the skull to get to the brain. Are you sure that aviary is rat proof? Looks like rat damage to me. Looking forward to the next graphic pic in the current series of your exhibition. :snide:

I would think a Jap quail could and would do that if they were starved for protein as i have seen them at dealers with blood all over them.It only takes one bird to bleed some where and the rest start continuely pecking at it,especially around the base of the tail Craig
