What do you aspire to breed one day? And why? And what are you doing now to try and make it happen?

Within the context of what is available in your country now.

Currently harvesting termites and brush to breed ordinary cordons, then in a few years I might be able to get blue caps.... not doing anything about lineolateds - apparently easy to breed, just need to wait until they're under $500 a pair.....

Currently breeding diamonds, who have similar dietary requirements, and the next aviaries I build will be of a decent height (2.4m, maybe higher??) to help reduce stress, while having some flights designed for only one pair per aviary for them. Also looking to harvest some casuarina seeds (just for practice) so I can supply those when I get them in future.

Although this is a finch forum my absolute "I WANT" is a pair of Pekin Robins. To me they are the most beautiful small bird I have ever seen. I know my limitations and although I can afford them they will remain on the wish list forever. The old saying "Never get your ambitions mixed up with your capabilities" rings true. Ahhh to dream.

Striated and Dusky Grasswrens. currently selling off all birds and re-doing my avairy in the hope that some Striateds may become available.

Mine would have to be the pin tail whydah, currently trying to breed my saint helenas to good numbers and trying to breed consistently so when the day comes with new aviery in mind I can have some success. As always $$$ are needed so here's hoping in a few years I just may get my top list bird.

I guess we all have different aspirations and challenges but I would like to be in a position to breed one or other species which is not secure in australian aviculture. I am not qiuite sure how to begin and/or identify what this or these might be but have got a new aviary to the design stage, almost ready to begin construction for that purpose. Once that is done I willno doubt be asking for advice on this from forum members, taking into account my level of capability and the needs of the said species, of course.

Plans are to be a consistent breeder of cup nesters primarily being red, yellow Siskins, as well as oriental and Himalayan green finches.

As well as Melba's and cordons.

Then progress these Africans to blue caps.

And space provided down the track.... maybe In the next 10 years Grenadier/ Napoleon weavers, song sparrows, Chaffinches and red crested finches.

Jeeze, where do i start?
Red-eared and Beautiful Firetails, Peters Twinspots, Napoleon Weavers, Violet-eared and Grenadier Waxbills (assuming there are still any left by then), Pekin Robins, Spotted Pardalotes, Red-capped Parrots... I could go on like this for a very long time.

Edit: Oh heck, what am I thinking!?!? QUAIL-THRUSH. Spotted, Chestnut, Chestnut-breasted or Cinnamon, it does not matter which. Ideally all of them.
