Hi guys,

You may recall a previous post of mine about breeding green singer hybrids.

Many of you will be relieved that I have decided not to pursue this for the time being (ill stick to goldfinch x canary for now).

I am quite pleased with the green singer itself the birds i have now have a better personality and energy than my previous ones.

I am hoping to breed my green singer pair this year in my new aviary.

I would just like some advice on increasing my chances of successful breeding and healthy birds.

I only just got the hen a week ago but they pair have bonded very quickly.

I know these are a winter breeder so I am not 100% on the breeding protocol for this bird

Thanks in advance for your help

El Feroz

They like a variety of greens, love live food maggots would be best as termites might be difficult. Nesting I find prefer in shrub, love fluffy material to build and use in nest. Just be patient with them.

Thanks for the tip!!

I am going to get some pampas grass for them.

I really want to breed them but am more than happy to wait.

They are a pleasure just to watch at present
