Bringing birds into breeding condition

Not for a while yet, end of next month at earliest, but I thought I'd ask anyway to be sure.
How do people phase in their breeding diets etc.? I imagine it would work best if timed with the addition of fresh brush and nesting grass?
At the moment all mine are getting is seed and water with a bit of soaked seed daily. Hoping in season to add in regular greens and daily termites as well as sprouted seed and soft food.

Yep, no phasing just rebrush, add nesting materials & start regular livefood. Coinciding with longer & warmer days the response should be almost immediate if they've been on just the basics.
