I was wondering if there is a preferred method for getting hand rearing formula out of chick feathers. I am handfeeding 3 undercooked gouldians at the moment. I thoight I was doing a good job cleaning up any excess formula but some still somehow gets through the feathers. Any tips would be appreciated

Make sure they're nice and warm and use a cotton bud (the stick thingy with 2 ends on it) and some warm water. May take a while. If it is really caked on, I have used my thumb and forefinger to crush it between my nails, careful not to pull the feathers out though!! This will soften it and you can even "roll" the feathers between your fingers and some should crumble off.
