I dont know if it is true.But I do know they do Burrow as there is no trees on the Antipodes all scrubs and cliffs and an Sub Antartic Island

They are the full green cousins of Kakariki

You can get yellow crowns and red crowns and orange crowns in Kakarikis They is another speciess of kakarikis I think

Although they are a kikari they are apparently a bit like a kea - they have a taste for meat and are known to enter the burrows of sea-birds on the island, kill and eat even adult petrels! There used to be a very similar parrot on Australia's Macquarie Island island but competition and predation from rabbit's cats and rats paved the way for the southern star finch.
