I seem to find it odd that my silver king quails are breeding at the moment. It's the first time ever that they've bred at this time of year, generally it's just too cold. They are in the end aviary which is probably most insulated and plus it has plastic sheeting around the wire to stop the cold winds because that's also where I house all my young gouldians waiting to colour up. There are 11 eggs in a nest and the mum is sitting tight on it. I'm only worried that they'll hatch and freeze to death. Should I put a small heat lamp or something in there for them for extra protection? That's given they do hatch because they're just so small and defenseless. The dad will also look after them but I just want to be certain.
Thanks.
