Lesser is smaller and with a paler, 'cleaner' grey which extends further down the back of the neck. The red eyebrow is heavier and the back & wings are a brighter gold-olive. Normal Red-brow often has a brownish wash through the grey, especially in the hens, and a gold-olive sort of half-collar across the back of the neck.
