Some fledgling photos.
The male baby has left the nest, but the female baby has wimped out. It's been three days now since no. 1 fledged.... I guess she'll jump when she's ready
This one was before they left the nest - I read an article about fledgling dimorphism, the males being reddish and the females grey in colour. My findings support that so far, will have to see how they colour up. Male right, female left: The fledged one seems to have got a pretty good handle on flying so far And the female, just now:

Thanks Henry have you noticed anything similar with your baby doves in regards to plumage differences?

I don't see difference of sexes in chicks at that age in my Cinnamons,Capes,Diamond and Zebra Doves. The Senegals are the only 1s like you say are the ones that have differences in chicks the young I see out of my dove collectionJayburd wrote:Thanks Henry have you noticed anything similar with your baby doves in regards to plumage differences?

I meant Senegals, sorry,
Do you find it to be reliable? It would be nice not to have to wait until they colour to move them on, they're a bit big to have four or more flying around in there.
