By looking at the picture it look like male by blue around it head,were the female has less arond the head.

I was told that the blue goes back past the eye in a cock and the blue is a lot brighter, based on the pairs I have here I would say its a cock.

Its either a bright hen or dull cock. Sorry for the ambiguity. With these guys, I go by the brightness & length of the tail & brightness of the green body as well as the head. The head colour is the most variable feature & difficult to use as a sole sexing technique unless you are looking at a very poorly coloured hen or brightly coloured cock.

Thanks guys. He/she is in a holding flight cage at the moment, so will try and get a photo of a bit more later. It's in with another couple of birds, haven't heard it calling or anything like that yet..

I was hoping I could find some of their calls online to play and hope we get something out of it (if it is a boy!) lol

I don't know if the flash just makes it seem brighter, as when you look at it in normal light i would say the face is rather dull :/
