Hey just needed a little advice. My painted firetails have had their babies and they should of fledged the best by now but they are still in there and it seems the parents don't want to feed them in the nest, because every time they fly near they don't seem to flutter at the front of it then fly away. My star faces were born about 4 days after the firetails and the fledged Thursday. Do I take the babies out of the nest or just wait? Iam just afraid they arnt getting fed. The parents seem to be encouraging them but they won't come. Thanks

You can't rush these things. Some birds take longer than others. Patience

Be grateful they're enjoying the warmth of the nest - normally painteds jump too early.

The parents do to some extent stop feeding the young otherwise they would never leave the nest. As long as they are feathered up and still calling they will eventually leave the nest.
