Gouldians gone to nest

I took out my nest boxes early July and put the birds on an austerity diet in August in order to trigger their moult.
The little bug#ers have built a nest in the shrubbery and are on six eggs.
Great day in Sydney today but whilst it is a pretty good nest, a box it aint and nights are still cold.
Is it better to take out the nest?
Regards
Clawd

Depends on what you want ,the birds are doing what comes naturally, the young probably wont color up properly for next year but you never know,i have had half colored birds still go to nest, and the weather is only getting better, garyh.

I would let them be, I have 3 pairs all on eggs at the moment, But they never bred in winter when i had them inside.
Now they have the aviary and are right into the breeding mode, I will take the nests out when it starts to get a bit hot.
I'm hoping to get a few babies before summer.
Cheers Freddy

I have young not far off fledging also. They seem to do better for me in late winter early spring. Think it is all the natural greens and the warming of the weather here.
