Generally if there is a pair the male and female will swap sitting duties but Trios they will sit two birds at time then rotate with the other bird. But sometimes Trios the Hens will make 2 Nests.

good luck!! what colouring is on that quail?

I have onlt seen the normal type and the silver.

I currently have a trio going with two nests in opposite corners of the aviary....hatching time must sure be close now

the male has been busy running between them.

Post more pics when they hatch

good luck

That is a nice cinnamon hen. For those that are interested in quail mutations, you will find that the cinnamon/fawn colouring can vary somewhat. I have been observing this for some time. And bought a very red cinnamon from Spanna, who is breeding true to her very red colouring with my cinnamon boy.

Sometimes it feels like ages before they hatch , they all explode out of the eggs on the same day so hatchdate depends on when the hen started incubating which is after the after the last egg was laid .

I could be wrong but this is what Ive observed from mine .

I had the same problem. everywhere told me 16-18 days, and on the 22nd day they hatched :P
if they're really REALLY late, crack one open.
