Sorry I won't be taking more pictures until after the breeding season. I only took pictures of this one because I have him spare. I thought he was a hen until he started whistling in anger at his intended mate.

Love the look of the bird in your photo. Now I see where the reference to seagulls comes from. Very distinctive shaped bird - I like it.

On the original topic, at a bird club meeting recently, some North Dutch Frills were being offered for $70 for unsexed stock and $160 for breeding pairs.

Seemed very cheap to me but I really only have gumtree prices to compare that to. Of course breeders don't usually sell unsexed stock so I assume a breeder is getting out of them.

I suppose this is slightly off topic but last I looked at Gumtree, I could pay a scammer $750 for a pair of Hyacinth macaws !!! I don't use Gumtree so I'm sure that was an aberration.

Here is one I missed a Silver Agate or White Dilute:

Silver Agate (White Dilute) is a blue but with the dilute trait added to it. Dilute makes the bird look paler compared to an ordinary blue like the blue Norwich below:



I cross blue variegates to clear yellows which often produces some clear whites. It's possible your dad was working with recessive white which some consider to be extinct in Australia nowdays.
