I am interested in knowing what, if any, software programs AFF members are using to help in the management of their birds.

Cheers
Brett

 I am also interested in this. I would like to set something up before my variety becomes too great to "catch up". I want to establish a system at the start. :)

Brilliant site well run and creator is responsive to queries and improvement suggestions and also a member of this forum. Used it from day one. I can print off a list of all my birds or divide it up to show or print specific aviaries. I can also print off individual 4 generation pedigrees with coloured icons (useful when breeding gouldians)

I have some sympathy for this position :soppy: , but am open to new ideas.

I have looked briefly at the Finch Breeder Database site and it does seem well thought out.
My only concern is with the data being held externally. What happens if the site disbands/blows up/shuts down, are there any safeguards that stop you losing all your data.

Cheers

If you know the basic programing you can easily create your own software to keep only the data you want to keep using Microsoft Access or Microsoft Excel.

This was something that was mentioned and the creator said that even if something happened to him the site would continue. If you have any concerns like that you could always pm him via the site.
