Recent ads suggest that will buy you the hen, then you can save up for a cock. Unfortunately there is a very recent trend in these oriental songbirds that the cocks are being bought up by rich 'songbird' enthusiasts at ridiculous prices, leaving a glut of hens and less breeding taking place. I know of individuals that have purchased pairs, then resold the male at twice the pair cost. This is particularly evident in magpie robins but pekins are also being affected.crocnshas wrote:I think $3,000 might come close and i've heard a few are being bred up the East coast. Craig
