How often and when do you worm finches as opposed to other birds small and larger parrots.
On one of the wormers it had no good for gouldians - is there a wormer that is better?

I worm my finches every 3 months with either moxidectin plus and Q Drench.

If you are regularly feeding live food there is a greater chance of finches being affected by worms, so how often you should worm finches largely depends on whether you keep insectivorous species or not. If you have Gouldians or other non insectivores housed separately I recommend worming just twice per year - before & after the breeding season is ideal. I do my mixed aviaries containing insectivores quarterly. Moxidectin plus and Equimax liquid are the best 2 wormers available at the moment (by far) in my opinion. I recommend staggering at least two wormers alternately to minimise any resistance buildup.

Now that my zebs have settled I need to start thinking about worming etc.

I bought Aristopet Bird Wormer when I bought the birds, is this ok? What's the best strategy for worming them?

I know alot of wormers use praziquantril, and the occasional one will use another active ingredient called Levamisole. I have a very large bottle of this one which is the cattle and sheep wormer (Big L) as it is commonly known. It is twice the strength of the pig and poultry one. My question is what is the dosage that I should add to my water. The bottle I have contains 27g/l. I also have panacur25 which is 25g/l of ferbendazole which is also a cattle wormer. Both of these I used previously in my fish tanks to worm fish to no ill effect. would anyone know a suitable dosage rate for these 2 if they are at all useable with birds.

I wouldn't use any thing that is only for cattle,the dose would be too hard to down size for a finch as some finches can handle it but others can't eg parrot finches.
The dose for panacur recommended for finches is 2.5 g/l as far as the others,i'm not sure. Craig
