It was one of those situations were several organizations and government departments actually cut through a lot of red tape to get a job done- and it worked! The eaglet is going very well with its sibling.

Unbelievable, I know. To me that was the most impressive thing about it (the cooperation, not the survival!!).
Total turnaround time from when the bird was taken from the nest to it being returned- including surgery and recovery- was less than 48 hrs.

I bet you if we tried to plan that again it would take weeks to get all the appropriate approvals etc!

There are some really good people out there who do a great job every day who get no acknowledgement for what they do. They're the ones who deserve the high praise.
From the Sydney Olympic Park Authority, NP & W, Birdlife Australia, the Animal Referral Hospital and the Cherry picker operator who donated the cherry picker & his time so that we could reach the chick in its precariously positioned nest and help it, it was a great team effort.

Cooperation is a wonderful thing and always gets the best results- just like what happens on AFF.

Now, if we can just get it to happen in the rest of the world....
