Just wondering what everyones opinions are as to what is the best 'nest' site for the cordons. I am looking to get my birds breeding and would like to know what type of nest or foliage I should provide to encourage them to do so.

Dense bunches of Tea-tree foliage would be their first choice. If these are not dense enough or not available, small enclosed cane baskets are also readily used. Other nest sites are very rarely used at all.

I use a mix of the top 3. As I find the different types of birds/personalities have different prefferences. A bit like us really. So giving the mix keeps everybody happy and catered for.

Callistemon (bottlebrush) is almost as good & holds it leaves well once cut. This is the best time to prune callistemon too - just after flowering.
