5 weeks ago I ordered "10 day old" crickets because the next size up from the supplier had become consistently too large and the wrens wouldn't take them (that size had been ok for more than 12 months, not sure why they were suddenly so big). these new ones were waaaaayyy to small to feed out.

Fast forward to now, baby crickets have been inside heated house, fed copious quantities of carrot and they have hardly grown at all. What else can I do fatten them up?

'Good O' dog biscuits and chook pellets and any other vegies. Slices of orange. They will eat just about anything.

Fish food flakes work well too.

I have opposite problem .I need baby crickets for the Geckos and they always seem to grow too fast .
They get carrot and the gutload goes in the tub in a container so they have it all the time .....within a week crickets are too big for my little Thick Tails .

My breed well, I get lots of pin-heads but if I leave them in the Aquarium 50% or more die, if I move them into another larger plastic container it's same. I feed crushed dog food, lettuce, carrots, slice of apple I also soak a hand tissue, fold it up and put in a Milk bottle top for extra moisture. I breed then in an old Freezer, I have a light with a thermostat but I can't say any of this has helped me at all, I still buy Crickets.

Crickets like low humidity. Its the extra moisture that's your killer. Give only enough moisture to keep them hydrated and no more. You will get them to grow bigger but at half grown they seem to get 'sensitive' again and roll over if you stare at them too long.

I do stare at them a lot "where are they? Thanks Danny will try, also what is the best temp setting 26 or 29 deg or does it matter? Mine is set to 29.
