With this species is it OK to leave the young in with them until you're ready to move them. With the WWW I normally have three, four or more clutches in with them without problem. Are the RBW the same or is there some aggression towards their young?

I normally try to get them out so there is not so much competition for food (they are only in a 3x2 with the honeyeaters, 2 pr of finches & 3 Woodswallos, so it is a little crowded as is), but I think most Wrens can be left till the young start to colour, or atleast till the end of breeding season.

Sorry mate didn't see your post ther. They get criskets, termites, bit of soft food & a few mealworms, they also get nectar that is in there for the honeyeaters, although they dodn't drink as much as Splendids do.

Good to see VR - hopefully all the initial dramas are a thing in the long distant past!

Good job Tintola, mine two appear to be doing fine, starting to explore and pecking at the aphids on the sow thistle. Can you sex them visually at this age? From what I could see in the young pair I bought earlier this year the cock bird looked a little paler than the hen, (more white on the breast and flanks) do you know if that's the way to sex them?
