Hi Jo,
I can vouch for Gary's statement...I got some blues from both garyh and coloredfeathers yesterday. Their birds are absolutely fantastic. I now have several pairs to combine with the lovely blues I got last year from Mr Tino (as well as the splits that I produced in 2012).
So with some patient breeding and the help of Mr Tino, Coloredfeathers and garyh I now have several pairs of absolutely wonderful blues....thank you gentlemen!!!
So Joe I don't know how much the blues you are talking about are going for, but the 3 breeders I have mentioned sell their birds at reasonable prices....but most importantly their passion and knowledge is truely reflected in the birds they have on the perch.
(you can probably guess that these 3 guys are my friends, but my comments above are no exaggeration....the quality of their birds is absolutely fantastic)
Cheers
Paul

Hi Craig,
I know that we are talking about AY blues...and I saw them on the weekend...my comments were about the AY Blues and blues, and more that i say.
My concern if I was to buy these (expensive) birds via a pet shop would be they are not being sold by the breeder for 1 of 2 reasons:
- 1 they have health issues and the breeder doesn't want to harm his reputation by selling rubbish
- 2 the breeder wants to keep his identity secrete at this stage because of the value of these birds and presumable the value of the rest of his flock
Personally I wouldn't be prepared to take the risk with buying such birds from a pet shop....this is the reason why I posted my comments about the boys and their birds.
Why would you buy such birds when you cannot find out any information about their bloodline, breeder set up, their diet, etc, etc, etc.
Cheers
Paul

They are a blend of Australian Yellow ('AY') and Blue genes in the same bird. I went looking for a photo for you but couldn't find one... (Anyone?)

Thanks Finchy. They are therefore quite different birds in phenotype I presume.
