I have 4 Silkies all under a year old and 2 have started laying. All hens. 2 are couple of months younger.they keep to their pairs and never roost together.Came home late this arvo to find one of the younger ones half on her side ,head down and wouldn't stand up.She has which looks like sore head from being pecked im guessing but no gash or anything anywhere, I have brought her and sidekick inside for the night,Is now standing a making normal chicken noises, am suspecting the Alfa Chicken attacked as she does chase a bit sometimes and the younger ones are very warey of her and run if she comes over to them. Do these things sort themselves out or can they get seriously hurt and need to be separated ? Have heard horror stories of chickens killing other chickens, has anyone got experience with housing Chickens that might bicker ? Or have a 'bully chicken' ? Had high hopes of all 4 roosting together being one unit .

This is based on children.

Change in the amount of time spent sleeping, listless, tiring easily, irritability, loss of balance, unsteady walking, and the possibility of uneven eye pupils. Could last a couple of days depending on the severity of the hit.
