Brown Kookaburra? or young ones?

Sister sent me a photo from further up in Qld of couple of Kookaburras....What species are they? or are they just young ones?

They are regular Laughing Kookaburras, still quite young and I suspect mostly just dirty but they would be interesting to see after the next moult.

Thanks Danny..I suspected young, wasn't sure...maybe nest hollow got wet and muddied them up lol

Dunno . .
The brown may be dirt but seems to follow a similar pattern in both birds
Oh for the good old days when it was quite legal to hold mutations of 'protected' birds such as these
Guy I know got a pretty good kick along from a 'white' black swan, back in the 70's
