Proud lorikeet owners

We have missed having birds but right now don't have time to look after many birds, so won't be getting back to finches for a while, but got ourselves one pair of purple crowned lorikeets, going in a 2x1 aviary. Fell in love with them during a visit to a bird park up north and after much deliberation decided to get a pair. Have had them one day and love them already :soppy: . They are very cute, the hen is not particularly timid and loves her food as well as climbing and hanging upside down into the water bowl. The male is more reserved and loves munching on grevillea flowers. :-) Lots to learn about them but we will get a lot out of them I think.

Bird free zone didn't last long. But that's all good.

No it didn't FB, but just one pair as pets, so different to 3 aviaries full of birds! Enough for now. :-) And manageable.

Yes they will be more like pets than aviary birds . It wont take long before they get used to you and start interacting , they cant help themselves ..
You will enjoy them Im sure ..oh they can squirt quite a way for a little bird lol keep that in mind when having lunch outside lol

The only problem is that one pair can make more noise than 3 cages full of finches.... well done flap, one day I shall get some but my work load has increased a bit so it will be a while for me...enjoy... pete
