Just a couple of pics the first one. Is this a hen on the left as I know the one on the right is a male (thanks VR) .

The second is a hen currently nesting , not to sure who the partner is as yet , any one have any idea for the feather loss around the beak.

I havnt been able to sit and watch to see who has paired up lately . I am considering moving each pair to another cage once I establish the pairs to see if that sparks better results... pete

I reckon the hen with missing feathers could be feeding young? Else it could be a skin irritation that she keeps rubbing... Very obvious colour in beak colour in the breeding birds.

it is obvious hey , I never see all 6 birds at the same time either. Also a male has afew missing in the same area, but no where near as bad. I also heard young but I couldn't tell if it was more black rump double bars next door. I need to spend more time down there....pete

Glad to see their doing their job. Even though he's on the other side of the country, he's still moulting the same time as his old inmates.
