while out in the avery early today I notice a fledging walking around on the ground. I think I know were it comes from should I stick It back in the nest? It's cold and wet here today.

Zebs are generally ok with you putting their young back in their nest.

With Zebs I would because they are not easily put off by nest disturbance as some other finches are.

If it is cold and wet and you have Zebs with similar size young you can get away with one or two extra in a nest. They can't count but do know the differnce between a few and lots. But in fine weather just put a perch a little above the ground to encourage the fledglings off the ground.
