Lavender waxbill.

Hi just wondering if any body has any lavender waxbills in Australia?? Would love to see a pick. Stunning bird!

Not in Australia but these two have young in the nest due out middle of next week

you can just see the nest on the right hand side, will post pics when they fledge

This is the nest they have built in a wicker basket, i can just get one finger in the nest the entrance is that small.

Good luck with them. Are they in a breeding cage or one of those nifty indoor aviaries you showed us?

They are in one of the indoor flights the flights are aprox 2m in length and height but only around 0.8m wide, hopefully post some pics of youngsters when they fledge.

3 Young Lavender Waxbills fledged today, a little early i was not expecting them out untill at least Wednesday onwards, they are back in the nest this evening though heres a picture of them.
