The things you find!

Yesterday while walking the dogs the wife pointed out a dead bird near the cricket oval. At first I thought I was a young pee-wee but when I flipped it over I could tell it was a sea-bird.

So I did what all crazy bird people would do... I bought it home with me so that I could identify it. Turns out it was a white-faced storm-petrel. They are a pelagic species but breed on some small islands just of Port Stephens to the north of Newcastle.

Cheers
Ian

Weird!!
I'm sure the wildlife collection will be most interested in the specimen if its in good condition, maybe contact them?

Yes, one good tern deserves another.
Maybe it just ran out of petrel.

Sorry - we used to see lots of seabird rescue cases - I have pages of them as I'm sure Myzo does too.
