I've had a few people buying finches recently and a few have asked how I open seed bags. Funny how things that seem second nature do actually have to be learnt. Anyway I was going to do a video but then I found this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg2aYF1z1rQ which does a great job of explaining how it's done.

Thanks heaps, Sam. I have been doing this for a while but it has always been a bit hit-and-miss.
Now I can do it every time !!!! It's such asatisfying feeling when the string unravels :)

If it doesn't go one way, it'll go the other.

If you open it properly, the bags can be reused. I have a friend who takes the bags and sells them.

I like knowing they are getting a new life instead of the dustbin.

Any good uses for the cut bags anyone? I use them to line plant pots to drain but hold in the potting mix.
