A week after my lone Red Factor Chick left the nest ( my ONLY canary chick for this year ) , i had two clutches of quail hatch a day apart from each other. One clutch are all brown like both parents, but i have three colours in the chicks in the second batch - and both parents are brown. Note the single silver chick amoungst the three yellow and four brown. So this year wasnt a COMPLETE flop for me, afterall. One long awaited red factor chick, two lots of quail - oh, and I am expecting my first born in a couple months also !!!!! :whoohoo:

Congratulations on the canary and quail chicks.

You will have to keep us updated on the quails after they moult, and also your own great news.

The yellows are the silvers, the browns are normals - but I've not seen anything like the fawn-coloured one before..... Very interesting!!

Is the odd chick cinnamon ? Congrats with the bird breeding. Course gravel will be a bit of struggle for the quail chicks to get around for the first few days.

Nope, cinnamon looks just like silver (being yellow) but they have two reddish racing stripes - not brown coloured...

Congratulations all all counts. Could the different quail chick be a mushroom? Very cinnamon silver for those who need a description.
