Nutmeg Mannikin mutation?

Most likely other species genes rather than sub-species. Spices are very regular hybrid candidates in Aus & significantly different sub-species are very uncommon here. Hence my original question of which species share the aviary & as Craig indicated a clear picture of the other parent may be enlightening.

I'll get photos tomorrow afternoon when I get homefrom school, but the two parents are identical. I could only tell he was the dad because the sequence of photos that was from had him displaying.

Sorry, I completely forgot about this :/. Here are some more photos.
I'm pretty sure one of the parents is subspecies topela (the one that's found feral in Australia), and the other looks hybridised with race punctulata.
I got them both from a show and didn't ask about parentage, so it is possible that they are hybridised, though no phenotypic signs on the birds.
I'll attach photos of both parents together, updated children and a photo that shows the more punctulata side of one of the parents.

And also one good picture, because all of these are bad quality.

I'm no expert on either of these birds, but the 2nd pic looks like a cross between an Aberdeen and a Spice from my limited knowledge.

To me In my opinion I think these Spice in pics are mixed Subspecies.

Wow! That is certainly different!
Could it be the case of the "throw back"?
Australia used to have 2 of the subspecies correct?
