I have a pair of normal looking Red Face Parrot Finches that have fledged Sea Greens in this nest and the nest before.
They have not fledged a Red Face-my question is which one is carring the mutant gene-or are they both carring it?

Have had a closer look at the current young and 3 are sea green(hens) and 2 are red face-what could these be given that the cock
is sea green split?

Firstly, your mother is normal. Hens cannot be split for a sex-linked mutation.
Thus, your young are either seagreen (hens), normal hens, split cocks and normal cocks.
Unfortunately, you can't tell normal from split males. The hens are what they look like.
