Our club visited a couple of fantastic setups on the weekend one of which had quite a collection of pied double bars he's been working on for a few years. No doubt many haven't seen them before (as I hadn't) so here's a photo.

Interesting, Sam, thanks for sharing.

They look like the black is missing mainly from the throat and breast in the two birds pictured.
Were they all like this, or were some pied on their backs, tail and wings as well?

Just had a look through my pics - seems I have none of the back of a pied. From memory not much pied on back but many had pied flights, tail, shoulder and head. Here's a few more - poor quality due to cropping from larger pics.

Hmm. Looks kind of odd, like somethings missing. Probably because they are a black and white bird, the effect of pied is not so appealing. Well to me anyway. But always good to see something different, so thanks for the pics.

I think it is Pantazo, I cannot remember what the guy told me here. When I speak to him next I will ask.
