Hi
What species of finch is this baby please? It and its sibling were tossed from the nest - one is dead and this one is on its way unfortunately. I think I know, but want to be certain which nest they came from.
Thanks.

Could be a Longtail perhaps? What species are in the aviary?

Nope, no Longtails in the aviary.
The neon blue 'sad face' lip corners are very distinctive...

Long time without them, but looks like a cutthroat to me

I have Zebras, yes, but no Cutthroats. I don't recognise these as Zebs though. I've not seen such dark grey skin on baby Zebs before, and these just look different to my eye. Also Zebs don't usually toss babies.
I also have RFPFs, TRPFs, RC Cordons and Orangebreasts. (Gouldians too, but it's def. not a Gouldian.)

Zeb it is then. Heavy down. PF have no down. Cordons have fawn down & OBs are tiny. May be a charcoal/black-bodied variety with darker than usual skin or just a normal which are reasonably dark-skinned. If you've left independent young in there they are likely suspects.
