My accidents in a 30 year period. Canary x Goldfinch. Bengalese x Chestnut. In both cases where an odd cock (the 2nd bird both times) was present. Bengalese x Java The Javas had been seperated for some time, the hen in with the Bengos, the cock elsewhere. I put the Java in with his mate, he was in prime breeding condition, and jumped the first bird to crouch. I think they were all beautiful birds. I kept them all in a holding avairy with no nests, and would never have considered doing otherwise.

"its beak is too big for its body and also its legs", eh?

Well that's what they say about me, too, and I'm alright. :nosey:

Bit hard to tell if its pretty or not, since it is uncoloured

I've never seen an ugly bird, though the Whaleheaded Stork is . . . . . different :wtf:

There has to be star finch in that bird, surely.
So star x plumhead.
What do others think?

Maybe, or maybe plummie x blood?
The beak isn't red, which you might expect if it got its red head from a star or blood parent.
I find it hard to guess from the hybrid as they don't always seem to come out as a mix of both types; there sometimes seem to be features which appear in neither parent.

Nice photo. Thanks, Zebman.

Might be just me, but I think that is a nice looking bird if you didn't know it was a hybrid.

I think it's nice looking whether or not it's a hybrid...
